ANUKRET DATED SEPTEMBER 25, 1996

ON THE CRITERIA FOR POSTPONING THE RETIREMENT OF CIVIL SERVANTS

The Royal Government,

 Considering the necessity;

decides:

Article 1:

Civil servants of both sexes that reach the age of 55 shall retire except in the cases indicated in Article 2 below.

Article 2:

From now until December 31, 1999, the Royal Government may authorize civil servants having exceeded the age of 55 to continue working in response to needs. This special authorization shall be granted by anukret.

 

Article 3:

Skilled civil servants requesting the postponement of their retirement shall satisfy the following criteria:

A request to postpone one's departure for retirement shall be made through a file as follows:

Article 5:

Each ministry or institution shall draft proposals for postponing the retirement of civil servants for the Secretariat of State to the Civil Service once per year at the latest on May 31 of each year, by indicating the civil servants that have requested postponing their departure for retirement in the year to come in order that the Secretariat of the Civil Service may submit them to the committee examining the retirement postponement requests of civil servants. The latter shall examine proposals according to procedures, with a view to requesting approval by anukret.

Article 6:

The Co-Ministers in charge of the Council of Ministers, the Secretary of State to the Civil Service, the Minister Economy and Finance, the Secretary of State for Social Action, Work and Veterans, Ministers and Secretaries of State of Ministries and Secretariats of State shall enforce this Anukret from the date of its signature.
